Christina Watts has a distinctive art style that is colourful and unique. She works predominately with watercolour, acrylic and inks. Her art begins with either a loose plan using one of her own reference photos, or she will pour and carve the paint into the images that emerge. Christina puts considerable thought into the colour choice and composition of each piece. She is passionate about visual arts and the ambiance they provide in our homes, workplaces, and community.
Christina was born in the small town of Smithers, British Columbia, Canada in 1978. She has remained in Northern BC and currently lives in Prince George. She learned her painting techniques from accomplished local artists, art workshops and through pure observation and experimentation. Christina is an active Community Arts Council – Artist Workshop member and Vice President. She is the founder of Ridge Side Art and has created the Artists Workshop website pgartistsworkshop.ca to help further the Arts in our community. Her work has been in group exhibitions at the Studio Fair and in the Group Gallery’s ‘Best Damn Little Art Auction’. She was also selected to compete in the 2014 Prince George Art Battle and then again in 2015 when she won the Art Battle Champion title.
