Catherine Ruddell: Creatively Sustained

For the month of October Catherine has taken up residence in the gallery section of Ridge Side Art.  Her cohesive and unique style has caught the attention of many organizations around Prince George, and the fun classes she instructed were a big hit.  This artist is working hard and doing everything right!

So what does Catherine Ruddell do?  “I’m a textile artist, surface pattern designer, and modern quilter.”  She inspires women to rediscover their creativity and believes that our creative needs are JUST AS IMPORTANT as our basic needs.  Being happy is being healthy.

Block printing, fashion figure designs, gouache painting are just of few of the artistic mediums she specializes in a chic way.  Her work has been published in the art books Uppercase and Thimbleberry, and she has her work displayed in Fort St John’s gallery.

Catherine started her art wave here at the Mini Maker Faire in September, migrated pop-up style to our gallery and is joining us upstairs for the STUDIO FAIR (Nov-3-5th)!!  In addition this busy artist also has her very own show called Covering Ground going up in the Two Rivers Rustad Galleria Nov 2nd – 26th.   Opening night is Nov 2nd from 7:30-9pm.

I hear she’s putting on more great workshops later so if you missed this lovely lady or want more of her follow her on instagram catherineruddell, facebook or visit her website
