For the month of January Artist Kari Patterson has been setting up and working in the feature gallery. Her body of art titled The Fight is drawn from her inspiration of street style art with her own life experiences. She expresses all the things that are most important to her through bright bold acrylic art.
Kari was born in Whitehorse, Yukon territory and she grew up in Prince George. She has worked in animation on an NFB film titled “How We Got Fire” and she helps teach weekly children’s art classes.
Although Kari’s heritage is First Nation she prefers not to paint in the traditional manner. Her unique style portraits a more modern twist that reflects her life and celebrates beauty and strength.
In addition to painting canvases she is also a a trained makeup artist!!!!
